The story of The Vicious King Lycaon ~ Greek
King Lycaon's story rings in the myths of werewolves in Greece because he was the first human to be turned into a wolf. The Greek god Zeus disguised himself as a traveller and faked being hungry and tired. He went to the court of cruel Arcadian King. King Lycaon figured out that the mysterious traveler was Zeus. The king, being as vicious as he was, sought to kill the god by feeding him human flesh, so he made his son into stew and gave it to the god. Zeus found out about the awful trick King Lycaon was playing and he did not eat the stew. Outraged, Zeus destroyed the palace and took his fury out on the king by turning him into a wolf for the rest of his existence. The people in Greece's villages heard the story and started calling the king a "lycanthrope" which means "wolf person".
